И касательно дозировок и относительно роли повышенных доз витамина Д в профилактики
Что касается витамина Д - в своё время, давно уже, была допущена ошибка при расчёте потребности, и никто её не замечал. Я кстати сам считал потребность исходя из фармакокинетики, и у меня выходило что надо 5000 в день. И вот уже позже выходит такая публикация: The Big Vitamin D Mistake в которой стоит следующее:
A statistical error in the estimation of the recommended dietary allowance (RDA) for vitamin D was recently discovered; in a correct analysis of the data used by the Institute of Medicine, it was found that 8895 IU/d was needed for 97.5% of individuals to achieve values ≥50 nmol/L. [...] This could lead to a recommendation of 1000 IU for children <1 year on enriched formula and 1500 IU for breastfed children older than 6 months, 3000 IU for children >1 year of age, and around 8000 IU for young adults and thereafter.

Researchers at UC San Diego and Creighton University have challenged the intake of vitamin D recommended by the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) Institute of Medicine (IOM), stating that their Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA) for vitamin D underestimates the need by a factor of ten. Robert Heaney, M.D., of Creighton University wrote: "We call for the NAS-IOM and all public health authorities concerned with transmitting accurate nutritional information to the public to designate, as the RDA, a value of approximately 7,000 IU/day from all sources."
