Which vaccines contain thiomersal?
All vaccines on the current Australian Standard Vaccination Schedule (ASVS) for infants and children under the age of 8 years are now free of thiomersal. The exception is the one of the infant hepatitis B vaccines, Engerix-B paediatric formulation, which contains a greatly reduced amount of thiomersal (2 ╣g per dose). The following tables list the vaccines used in Australia that are thiomersal free and vaccines that contain thiomersal.
