Well, I will answer. Ich habe Deutsch als meine "zweite" Sprache in einem Pedagogischen Institut (im Russland) studiert. Meine so-genannte "erste" Sprache war Franzosisch. Aber 12 Jahre sind passiert und man fergist (fergisst?), naturlich. Ich lebe in der USA und spreche kein Deutsch. Sie ferstehen, wie das ist. I never really used my German. Never had a chance. But I may be going to Germany soon and then... We shall see how it goes. As far as studying - one must have a drive, a fire in one's belly. Otherwise, forget about it. You'll waste your time and have a bad aftertaste in your mouth. It's one of the reasons many Russians living in Germany hate Germany and Germans: they
are forced to do the most painful thing for them - study a foreign language against their will.
