И дело даже не в том, что суммарный вклад еврейских мыслителей и ученых в то что называется
"современной западной культурой" фундаметален, а не "вспомогателен", как Вы пишите. Дело в том,
что важнейшие идеи и методы на которых эта культура стоит - родились из еврейской философии и метафизики,
еврейскго взгляда на мир и место человека и Бога в нем. Лапидарно это называется еврейским Монотеизмом и
вошло в западную духовную культуру вместе с библейскими принципами, то есть вместе с христианством.
Все серьезные исследователи творчества и философских взглядов Исаака Ньютона отмечают огромное
влияние работ Моисея Маймонида (Essays in Biography, by John Maynard Keynes (Macmillan, London, 1961, p. 316).
Тоже относится к Лейбницу и Фоме Аквинскому.
Влияние еврейских Философов - Маймонида, Филона Александрийского,Спинозы, Маркса,Хуссерла, Виттгенстеина,
Поппера, Кантора, Тарского и многих других на становление "заопадной цивилизации" на всех ее стадиях - фундаментально,
причем берет начало из еврейской метафизики.
Многие идеи на которых строится западная экономическая система - зародились, были озвучены и осуществлены евреями.
Что есть "западная экономическая мысль" без Давида Рикардо, положившего основы английского
экономического законодательства сопроваждавшего индустриальную ревилюцию.
Что есть эта "экономика" без идей Маркса, Мизеса,
Самуелсена, Эроу, Фридмана, Фон Неймана, Канторовича?
А медицина ио медицинская этика? Непрерывавшаяся традиция еврейских врачей Европе и Азии (начиная с Маймонида)
их опыт и этика вошли в основу "современной медицины" и достойно продолжились

Jews also figured prominently as translators and transmitters to the Moslem world of the medical scholarship of the ancient Greeks, and would later play a similar role in transmitting to Europe the scholarship of Moslem physicians such as Avicenna. In the late Middle Ages, the Jews, numbering only about 1% of Europe's population, constituted roughly half of its physicians.6 During the last of the great European Jewish expulsions in the 1930s, the medical centers of Vienna and Berlin lost nearly half of their physicians and the majority of their medical school faculties.7 Many fled to America, helping to fuel its meteoric rise to preeminence in biomedical research; Jews have accounted for more than 40% of US Nobel Prizes in medicine and constitute over one-third of the combined membership of the life sciences divisions of the US National Academy of Sciences and its affiliated Institute of Medicine.

Да и так ли уж случаен ошеломляющий успех евреев в "чуждой им " и "созданныой другими" культуре?
Почему не наблюдается особого всплеска у греков.
если уж современная культура "греческая".
Конечно греческие корни не вызывают сомнений, но и еврейские не надо забывать.
Естественно, Микеланджело вернулся к элинской эстетике и традициям.
В этих традициях он рисовал и ваял.
Но КОГО? Статуи Давида, Моисея, лики ЕВРЕЙСКОЙ библейской божьей матери.
Традиция и техника от греков, а сюжет и вдохновение откуда?
