Хорошо, если вам не нравится эта метафора, возьмем другую: актер может послать режиссера подальше, если ему роль не нравится, или, если у него нет воли, продолжать играть.
Я понимаю ваши мысли: субьектность личности ограничена. Но давайте не будем снова играть в "или-или". Структурализм оперирует понятием децентрализованого субьекта, если вам нравится, то назовите его Богом, потусторонней силой итд. Структуралисты исходят из того, что не человек субьект, а структура, и структурой может быть, например, язык (его символика, в частности писанный язык, то есть писание, в том числе и святое). человек впитывает в себя символику писанного текста и становится в большей или меньшей степени роботом. Если он уже совсем отказался от своей субьектности и становится роботом (как, похоже, Деломанн), то такому легче жить: его не мучает совесть, он слепо что-то исполняет (в данном случае запаведи) и его не мучает моральная сторона вопроса, так как мораль Бога непонятна для людей.
Захотел Бог, чтобы иудеи уничтожили Канаанит, значить нужно исполнять приказ, Богу виднее.
Таким людям хочется, чтобы мир не изменялся, и чтобы все пророчества сбывались.
Но такая идеология/религия очень опасна, имхо. Может иметь место эффект Self fullfilling profecy.

Self-fulfilling prophecy

A self-fulfilling prophecy is a prediction that, in being made, actually causes itself to become true. For example, in the stock market, if it is widely believed that a crash is imminent, this may reduce confidence and actually cause such a crash. Or, if a candidate in an election openly declares he does not believe he can win, this may increase voter apathy and result in poor support for his campaign.
Self-fulfilling prophecy is a manifestation of positive feedback in human society. In short, because the prophecy was known, and was sufficiently credible, it affected people's actions and caused itself. Robert K. Merton is usually acknowledged as the maker of this phrase and using it in sociology.
Another example is Moore's law in semiconductor industry.
