└February 14-15, 1945: Night indiscriminate bombing against the city of Dresden. 805 RAF bombers dropped fire bombs causing a huge Fire Hurricane. Between 35.000 and 135.000 civilians are estimated to be killed. Many people think this massacre was not justified due to the war situation (The german defeat was only a matter of days).

└How many were killed? The figure of 225,000 was widely circulated; Crossman estimates upwards of 150,000. Fascist ⌠historians■ like David Irving have long pointed to the Dresden massacre in order to relativize the Nazi Holocaust of the Jewish people and to absolve the Nazi regime of its horrendous crimes. Yet the Dresden massacre was one of the most horrific war crimes in history, and one carried out by the ⌠democratic■ imperialists. For his services rendered to the British Empire, ⌠Bomber■ Harris later received a Knights Grand Cross from the Queen (as well as a Legion of Merit from the U.S.).⌠

└On February 13-14, 1945, Allied bombers laid siege to the German town of Dresden-once known as "Florence on the Elbe." With the Russians advancing rapidly towards Berlin, tens of thousands of German civilians fled into Dresden, believing it to be safe from attack. As a result, the city's population swelled from its usual 600,000 to at least one million....
The Allied firebombing did more than shock and awe. The bombing campaign murdered more than 100,000 people-mostly civilians-but the exact number may never be known due to the high number of refugees in the area.⌠

└...civilians can be targeted efficiently: 40,000 dead in Hamburg in one night from UK bombs in the first (and only unintentional) firebombing of the Second World War, 135,000 dead in cultural center Dresden in 2 days, 17,800 people dead in Pforzheim within 22 minutes⌠
