Server lists are obsolete the moment they are written, servers come up and go down constantly throughout the day. If you are having problems connecting, especially after having not used eDonkey for a while, or having just installed it, this is likely the problem. You have a couple options. Firstly you can wait, chances are there are a couple good servers on your list, it will just take eDonkey a while to find them. Secondly connect to a site (A current server list generated by maurice) that has an up-to-date server list. Add a server from the list and attempt to connect to it. These steps will resolve most connection problems
An alternative problem could Proxy Settings, first of all, chances are you don't need them. eDonkey should work fine without a proxy set up. The major exception is for local area networks where your IP address starts with 192.168.*.* or the like. In which case get the appropriate settings from your Sys Admin (or copy them from IE)
