I understand everything. But when we talk about language of international communication, we mean WORLD, not EU, and especially not Schengen zone. And worldwide the list of most spoken languages is as follows:

а у меня рефлекс блевотный от немецкого, пытался 2 раза пойти в кино, посмотреть фильм в 3D, первый раз продержался 40 минут, второй раз 15, весь фильм своим поганым языком испортили

Фильмы они портят поганым дубляжем. В соседней Чехии фильм идет на языке оригинала с титрами, слушать чешский никого не заставляют. В Польше то же самое.

Of course that's true if you discuss worldwide problems. Maybe here we pay more attention to local problems and Europe is only a very small part of the world.

I had seen some curious combinations, even German movies (DEFA) in Russian translation with Ukranian subtitles and a movie (West Side Story) with Russian subtitles (1st layer) and Ukranian subtitles (top layer)
