To All Employees:
The United States government has proclaimed September 11th Patriot Day. All departments, agencies and instrumentalities of the United States will display the American flag at half-staff on Patriot Day in honor of those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001. This coming Wednesday marks the 1-year anniversary for the tragic events that occurred last September 11th. While we are not able to fly our flag at half-staff, we will be placing our flag towards the front of the lobby and displaying a special wreath. You are invited to participate in other activities in remembrance of those who lost their lives, as well as acknowledge and be thankful to those who provided rescue and relief services.
╥ Observe a moment of silence to honor those that lost their lives. Special times of significance are: 8:46 a.m. EST when the first World Trade Center tower was struck; 9:03 a.m. EST for the second tower; 9:40 a.m. EST when the Pentagon was hit; 10:07 a.m. EST when the last hijacked plane crashed into a Pennsylvania field; and 10:29 a.m. EST when the second World Trade Center Tower collapsed. Since we are 3-hours behind, XXXXXXX XXXXXXXX San Francisco will have a moment of silence at 9:00 AM CST.
